Just like eating and drinking should be done in moderation, so should your intake of caffeine. High doses of this common stimulant found in tea, chocolate, coffee, and energy drinks can increase stress levels and lead to heart issues, such as hypertension. For most, a moderate amount of caffeine is less than five cups of coffee per day.

5. Spend Time With Friends & Family

Social support during rough or stressful moments can greatly improve your mood. Studies show that social support can have a positive effect on both physical and mental health. Additionally, women who spend time with friends and children release more oxytocin, a natural stress reliever.
