Who comes to a pawn shop?  I have many people ask me this when I tell them that I own a pawn shop.  The reality surprises people when I tell them that I cut across a wide swath of society except for the Kardashians, but then what do they know.  We have many who come in looking for the unusual like the 1945 silver certificate dollar bill we had not long ago.  It was issued to troops in North Africa and has a special yellow color seal to them so that if they ended up in the hands of the enemy they would be declared worthless without disrupting the regular currency transactions of the U.S.   How about a collection of Nickels that spans back to the early 1938, we have one of those right now.  A guitar signed by the local Lincoln band  "Hookt". Sometimes they are just looking for a deal on tools, jewelry, or electronics.  Where else can they haggle like they can in a pawn shop?  Maybe it is a bill, emergency expense or bank fee they need to cover that brings them into the store for a short term loan.  The reasons are many, the response is the same.  Welcome, how can we help you?
