Do you get your teeth checked regularly?  How about your eyes?  Your hearing too?

If you don't have your hearing evaluated, what is your reasoning? Do you assume you have good hearing?  How can you be sure?  Hearing is how we connect to the environment around us and to everything that is happening within each moment.  Even if you believe you lack a hearing problem, you should have a baseline evaluation performed.  That way, you can know for sure what your capabilities are and be able to detect a deviation at later appointments.  Regular check-ups are a way to detect changes before hearing loss becomes a problem to yourself and others.  For someone with normal hearing, routine monitoring should occur every 5 years or so.  For someone with a hearing loss, evaluations should come more frequently at every 1 or 2 years-- depending on severity and stability.
