Leftover french fries are far from disappointing. After leaving your favorite burger restaurant, be sure to take those leftover fries with you, as they can be restored if you properly reheat them. Here are a few things you can do for optimum next-day fries.

How to Make Sure Your Leftover Fries Are Crispy

1. Microwaves

It is possible to reheat fries in a microwave while also making sure they’re crispy. Lay a paper towel down over a plate and place the fries on top. Sprinkle a bit of oil for added crunch and microwave for 20 seconds at a time until they reach the right level of crispiness.

Microwaves tend to have different heat levels. Make sure to heat the fries in short increments to prevent sogginess.

2. Ovens

Adding seasoning is also recommended, as it can enrich the original flavors. Fries will usually become crispy in about five to ten minutes, so set a timer to prevent them from burning.

3. Stove Tops

Take a large skillet and add a layer of oil to the bottom. You can also use spray oil if it has a high heat point. Turn the stovetop to medium and heat the oil. Add fries to the skillet and toss vigorously while heating.

Don’t add extra oil while heating. Excess oil can actually bog down your fries and make them too soggy. When they’ve reached the right level of crispiness, take them off the flame, cool, and serve.
