Almost all dogs can, and should, benefit from obedience training. But only a select few have the right temperament for protection training. It takes a high level of prey drive, confidence and willingness to learn new things in order for a dog to excel with this training. Traditionally, the Belgian Malinois is the breed of dog that excels most in the bite work training. However several other breeds can also do very well, such as the Dutch Shepherd, German Shepherd, Doberman and Rottweiler.

Krueger K9 in Cincinnati, OH offers basic and advanced obedience training, as well as protection training depending on the dog and handler. Is your dog a candidate? Call Krueger K9 and owner Andy Krueger can determine their potential with a free protection evaluation.

  • French Ring: One of the most exciting dog protection sports in the world is French Ring, which has existed in France for almost a century, having only been introduced to the United States in 1986. It involves competing with your dog in different trials, which test the dogs' obedience, agility as well as biting skills. There are four levels; Brevet, Ring 1, Ring 2 and Ring 3. The difficulty and complexity increases as a dog and handler move through the levels.
  • Cincinnati Ringsport: As a certified French Ring Level II Decoy, with years of experience traveling the country to compete in trials as both a handler and a decoy, Andy Krueger trains dogs in French Ring right here in Cincinnati; it's all part of his club, Cincinnati Ringsport.
