Quartz has a seven rating out of 10 on the Moh's Scale of Mineral Hardness. This means you can cut directly on the counters without leaving nicks, cuts, and deep scrapes behind. Excessive heat can damage the surface, so put hot cookware on oven mitts or trivets to prevent premature wear.

2. Butcher-Block

To add a rustic aesthetic to your high-end kitchen, outfit the space with butcher-block countertops.
