What Is a WaveRunner?

In the mid-2000s, Yamaha again balanced improvements to both racing and leisure WaveRunner models. Recognizing the high demand for family PWC and vacation rentals, Yamaha introduced telescopic steering and cruise-assist options. 

By the end of the decade, the WaveRunner became one of the world’s lightest PWC, thanks to their NanoXcel™ lightweight frame. In 2012, three new models were released; they were adjusted to fit a standard of comfortable but “race-ready” vehicles.

In the last five years, Yamaha developed state-of-the-art dual-control handlebars for maximum vehicular control. WaveRunners were also given new boat control units  catering to the type, weight, and handling for every unique model.
