If you want to look younger and healthier, there are simple, nonsurgical  treatments that your skin care  provider can perform in-office for immediate results. Here are some of the most popular options to create a more youthful appearance and erase or reduce lines and wrinkles.

3 Non-Invasive Skin Care Options to Smooth Your Face & Neck

1. Botox®

Botox is a muscle relaxant derived from a specific bacterium. Many wrinkles are caused by constant tension in the underlying muscles, and Botox forces them to loosen, smoothing out the skin. It’s most useful for crow’s feet, frown lines, forehead lines, and neck bands. Botox reaches full effectiveness in under a week and lasts for three to four months or longer if you’ve had the treatment before.

2. Laser Skin Resurfacing

skin careLasers use focused beams of light at specific wavelengths to address a targeted area  without damaging surrounding cells. An ablative laser reduces wrinkles, discoloration, and scars by removing the outer layer, allowing fresh, smooth skin to grow in its place. On the other hand, non-ablative lasers stimulate underlying cells to trigger collagen production, which makes skin elastic.

3. Microdermabrasion

This procedure is somewhat similar to an ablative laser because it removes the outer layer of skin. However, instead of using a laser, microdermabrasion uses a physical tool or sprays fine particles to exfoliate the skin. The same instrument then vacuums up the shed skin cells, leaving only the healthy lower layers behind.

This procedure is also useful for fine wrinkles, scars, age spots, and uneven coloration. Because it removes the dead outer layer, it also makes skin care products more effective because they can more easily reach the living cells underneath.
