How sure are you that the proper amount is being withheld from your paycheck? If you fall into any of these categories, it is particularly critical that you check your withholding amount:

  • are part of a two-income family
  • work two or more jobs or only work for part of the year
  • have children and claims credits such as the child tax credit
  • have older dependents, including children age 17 or older
  • itemized deductions on your 2019 tax return
  • are a high-income earner with a complex tax return
  • received a large tax refund or had a substantial tax bill for 2019
  • receive unemployment at any time during the year
