At the Jewish Community Center - Chabad of Long Island City, Rabbi Zev and Rivka Wineberg are dedicated to creating a community where Jews can find a home and an education, and where they'll make memories that will last a lifetime.
Both Rabbi Zev and Rivka have known that they wanted to work in Jewish community service from a young age. Vancouver-born Rabbi Zev began Yeshiva when he was 12, and traveled all over the United States, Israel, Canada, and South Africa, and even to Budapest. Rivka, who was born in Crown Heights, spent her youth volunteering at Jewish day camps in the United States and in the Ukraine, and began teaching in the Chabad community after completing her education in Israel.
Since 2006, Rabbi Zev and Rivka have dedicated themselves to serving the spiritual needs of the Jewish population in West Queens. Their programs have included public Menorah lightings, Passover Seders, holiday events for children, and lectures and cultural events.
Additionally, Rabbi Zev and Rivka are always personally available to members of the Jewish community. They would love to meet with you in person for a casual coffee date, or you meet them virtually on their website. Both Rabbi Zev and Rivka enjoy sharing information and connecting with others. They embrace Jewish people unconditionally and offer non-judgmental services to families of all levels and backgrounds.
