Now that fall is here, your home may see some unwanted guests. Various pests, including insects and rodents, find their way indoors during the fall to avoid dropping temperatures and food shortages. Proper pest control is essential during this time of year, especially when dealing with the following critters.

Which Pests Are Common During the Fall?

1. Ants

Ants hate the cold, so they’re common intruders as temperatures drop during fall. Once inside a home, ants will take up residence in the kitchen, where they’ll have ample access to food. Some types of ants can even damage the structure of your home by constantly chewing on and burrowing into wood.

2. Rodents

Rodents wreak havoc once inside, especially if they make their way into the walls of the home and chew on electrical wiring. Rodents can also carry serious diseases, so swift pest control is a must if droppings are noticed or find a nest somewhere in the home.

3. Roaches

If a roach is spotted, there is likely much more hiding nearby. Like rodents, roaches are disease carriers and can easily make their way into the pantry to contaminate the food supply.

Roaches can also cause severe allergy symptoms, especially in kids and seniors. They’ll leave behind small droppings resembling pepper, watch for light brown egg casings around the house.
