MR. CORLETTA NEGOTIATES FAVORABLE PLEA DISMISSING 3 OUT OF 4 CHARGES WHERE CLIENT DOES NOT SHOW UP.

Mr. Corletta demonstrated that he does his job, even without cooperation of the client who did not bother to show up for a scheduled Court appearance in People v. Anonymous (Gates Tn. Ct. 8/20).

In that case, the client faced several traffic charges, including a suspended license and Driving Without Insurance, and then failed to appear in Court.

Mr. Corletta appeared, was prepared, and presented satisfactory information to the District Attorney that the client had cleared their license and fixed a problem with the car.

Mr. Corletta was able to persuade the Town Justice and District Attorney to allow a plea to one of the four charges, dismissing the Driving without Insurance charge, which could have resulted in a one year revocation of the client's license and a $500.00 civil penalty.

Hopefully, the client will cooperate and sign a Plea Affidavit pleading guilty to the single charge, so the matter can be disposed of with the minimum proposed fine, as suggested by the Town Justice, largely due to Mr. Corletta’s advocacy.
