(Lincoln, NE) Working with Stephens & Smith Construction for a third time recently produced more of the same results for Manzitto Bros: A great product and zero delays.

During the Village West Apartments project, Manzitto Site Superintendent Mark Garner said Lincoln Flatwork and Foundation achieved results similar to the previous two projects he’d overseen. He noted how Stephens & Smith was able to pour the garage floors and building slabs and footings well ahead of the framers.

Village West, which will be comprised of five 41-unit buildings, is located just west of the Lincoln Airport off of North 48th Street. 

Flatwork Supervisor Doug Talich said his team laid 12,600 square feet of floor slabs for each building and nine garage slabs, totaling about 22,500 square feet. A pool deck will be added once paving is completed this summer.

“As far as apartment projects go, it’s probably one of the smoothest I’ve worked on due to the planning by Project Manager Dave Thibault and other managers,” Talich said.

Foundation Supervisor Joe Wilkinson continues to lead the team that began the footings and wall work late last year. The Stephens & Smith Gyp-Crete department will arrive at the site later this summer, adding floor underlayment once the units are drywalled.
