With summer winding down, you may not think of having a swimming pool installation now. But it’s never too late. Starting your search for the perfect pool means that you could have one in your yard when warm weather rolls around again. However, with many pool styles on the market, you should know what options you have available.

What to Know About Pool Styles

Material

Most pools come from concrete, vinyl, or fiberglass. With concrete, you can build pools of any shape or size with it, and you can finish it with tile, stone, or plaster. Vinyl, like concrete, works with pools large or small, and it can provide for a multitude of interior patterns.

Fiberglass pools come in pre-made molds, but they still allow for plenty of customization. Infinity pools and other modern styles come from fiberglass. While the material comes at more of a cost, the final product will wow you and your family and friends.

Shape

imageBefore building a pool, you need to know what shape will fit best on your property. A classic rectangle goes well just about anywhere. But if you have more curves in your yard, an oval, a kidney shape, or a custom contour might work better than something with straight edges.

Attachments

Every pool needs steps and ladders for easy access in and out. But if you want to jump right in, perhaps you want to add a diving board or a water slide on to the deep end. If you like to relax, a hot tub can fit alongside any edge of your pool. Perhaps you want to add water features such as waterfalls or a fountain for extra class.

Landscaping

After a pool installation, you’ll want to dress it up a bit. Add plants around the perimeter. If you want to give the feature a certain vibe, such as a tropical getaway, add some tasteful stones and umbrellas on the deck. Add a fence for privacy and safety.
