As the decision makers stumble along aimlessly during this area of Covid-19 and Coronavirus, people with bills to pay are being left to fend for themselves.  And now Congress’s $600.00 unemployment assistance is about to expire as our elected representatives fiddle.  I would advise everyone to get there ducks in a row and seriously contemplate the next step.  For some, that may mean an attempt at a fresh start, that is to say, now is the time to get rid of the bills so that going forward one can live their life.  If you have reached this point, you might want to consider Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code.  In 99% of the cases, one who is economically distressed can wipe out all their debt while at the same time keeping everything they own and it won’t be broadcast in the newspapers.  For those who own houses and cars that have payments, just keep making the payments and they won’t be able to foreclose or repossess.  If you would like to consider Chapter 7 and get a fresh start, please feel free to call Attorney Mark O. Grater in Groton, CT  at 860-449-8059 or visit his web cite at www.graterlaw.com.  We represent clients in New London County and Southeast Connecticut.
