The body of the car is then placed on top of this structure. Usually, this type of chassis is used with large vehicles like trucks and SUVs.

In a unibody chassis, the frame is attached to the vehicle’s body, rather than working as a support system. In this case, both elements work together to comprise a single structure. This type of chassis is typically used in smaller cars, such as sedans, hatchbacks, and coupes.
