When you’ve worked hard to embrace a healthier lifestyle, it can be discouraging when your results start to slow or halt. This is known as a plateau and it is not uncommon. However, rather than letting yourself lose motivation, utilize the following weight loss tips to help you overcome this challenge.

How to Continue to Lose Weight

1. Readjust Your Carb Intake

Review your meal plans and eating habits and see where cuts can be made to your carbohydrate intake. A certain amount of healthy carbs is essential for maintaining energy. However, you should aim to keep consumption to around 60 grams per day. Studies have shown that those who limit their diet to 50 grams daily have better weight loss results than those on less carb-restrictive diets.

This means avoiding grains, starchy vegetables like potatoes, beer, juice, and honey. Instead, snack on eggs, olives, cheese, or avocados.

2. Choose Whole Foods

They tend to have fewer calories and carbohydrates than other meal or snack options. They also don't contain the preservatives and fillers of prepackaged foods, which have some links to cancer and heart problems

3. Switch Up Your Exercise Routine

Most people have specific exercises they like or certain pieces of exercise equipment that they prefer to use regularly. At first, these workouts can be successful for weight loss because your body is moving and your heart rate is increasing. But, over time, your muscles can adapt to these workouts, which can stymy progress.

Instead, try a different routine. For best results, choose something intensive, such as a boot camp, alternating between walking and running, or strength training.
