Perhaps you received a flower bouquet as congratulations on a new job. Maybe the bouquet came from a recent wedding, anniversary party, holiday extravaganza, or birthday. No matter why you have a gorgeous bouquet in your hands, there are many ways to repurpose it and enjoy the blooms even longer.

5 Options for Repurposing Flower Bouquets

1. Dried Hanging Flowers

Allow the arrangement to dry completely, which preserves shape and color for the most part. Tie the ends of the flowers together with twine or a bow to hang in your home. Dried hanging floral arrangements add beauty to bedrooms and formal living rooms, among other spaces. They also work well in kitchens with lots of container plants and herbs.

2. Potpourri

In addition to helping rooms throughout your home smell amazing, you can put the potpourri in muslin sachets or similar small bags to freshen clothes in bureaus and closets.

3. Pressed Flower Bookmarks

Use a flower press to flatten the blooms after trimming their stems. Leave the flowers in the press until they are dry. Press them further as needed using stiff cardboard and a weight, such as a book or an item made from marble or other natural stone. Slip the results into clear bookmark sleeves to give as gifts or use yourself.

4. Bath Bombs

Make your own bath bombs with a circular mold, flower petals, Epsom or sea salts, two parts baking soda, one part citric acid, a few sprays of witch hazel, and an oil such as sweet almond or coconut. Blend the ingredients in the mold and let it dry for at least 24 hours before use.

5. Nail Art

Create unique manicures by dipping small pieces of dried flowers into nail resin and placing the results over your selected nail. Keep the art intact by applying one to three layers of clear topcoat. Your flower bouquet can provide enough nail art supplies to last months.
