The summer rental market in a college or university town is different than the rest of the year. There is a mad rush to obtain storage, equally for a dorm room that has to be cleaned out or for an apartment change. There are the experienced parents and students who obtain a unit early to avoid the rush. There is also a group of inexperienced underclassmen caught for the first time in need of a storage! This creates a bottleneck in the supply change and can be very frustrating for those seeking storage and those who work to provide it. The number of units closest to the school will fill up early, often the same students will come back to rent each year.  This time of year has storage providers answering hundreds of inquiries a day by phone, email, and social media. These 3 things will help you find a unit: Rent earlier than you need, Call first thing each morning to catch units that have come available, be flexible on unit size.
