When you’re renovating a kitchen, quartz is an excellent choice for the countertops. Unlike porous stones, quartz doesn’t require regular resealing. The material is also durable, attractive, and available in many colors, making it ideal for kitchens. Here are a few color options to consider for your new kitchen counters.

What Quartz Colors Are Popular for Kitchen Counters?

White

If you dream of a marble countertop but don’t want to reseal it white quartz is the next best thing. Veining can be added to white quartz to mimic the classic marble look. Additionally, veining patterns can be altered to your specifications, from a minimal look to a more visually engaging pattern.

Black

Black quartz creates a sleek, dramatic look in just about any kitchen. It also pairs well with stainless steel appliances, such as refrigerators and dishwashers. If you’d like a darker color but aren’t too keen on a striking black countertop, consider quartz in a less dramatic gray shade. Under ordinary use, dark colors will show dirt, dust, light scuffing, fingerprints and watermarks more readily than lighter-colored surfaces. While quartz is scratch-resistant, some materials can cause scratching. For example, the bottom of some ceramic or earthenware dishes may be abrasive enough to cause minor damage to the surface. Brushed

While not a color itself, brushed quartz is a great alternative for a soapstone look in a kitchen or bathroom. A brushed finish may need more daily attention than a polished finish. This is the nature of any material with a matte finish when compared to the same material with a polished finish – smudges, fingerprints, and water spots are simply more visible on a matte surface. Promptly wipe up and buff dry routine spills, droplets, and rings. A microfiber towel may be more effective than a paper towel because Brushed Finish has a slight surface texture when compared to Polished Finish.
