Dear Valued Members,

We hope this finds you well and that you're soaking up some sunshine!

We are preparing to reopen June 8th and can’t wait to see your smiling faces and to share some much-needed laughter together again!

“Social Fitnessing” measures as we reopen the gym will certainly be a big part of what we will be doing! We are following the instructions from the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), as well as local St. Charles County guidelines to ensure that our facility is so fresh and so clean for your family.  As you may suspect, families, we'll be asking for a little assistance from you as well, and we'll be happy to assist you.

Some of the things we'll be asking for your assistance with are the following:

  • In the lobby, we'll be maintaining a 6-ft distancing policy that includes spacing chairs 6 feet apart, as well as chairs 6 feet apart outside in front of the gym windows. We will ask for your assistance in keeping them separated. We have also removed the legos in the lobby in order to limit contact and reduce frequently touched areas.
  • All adults will be asked to wear socks to maintain the integrity of the cleanliness of the gym. Children will continue to be barefoot in order to enhance their muscular development in their feet, along with decreasing their likelihood to slip on equipment.
  • We have closed off our drinking fountain. Please be sure your child brings their own water bottle, clearly marked with their name if you choose so.
  • To limit the number of individuals in our facility, we ask for your consideration of others when bringing siblings and other family members.
  • We will be cleaning and disinfecting the gym and equipment before and after each class.
  • Bathrooms will be cleaned between classes and will be fully disinfected mid day and at the end of each day.
  • Please use hand sanitizer upon arrival and departure at the gym.
  • Please do not enter the lobby area until 5 minutes before the start of your class.
  • If you are not feeling well please stay home.  Just let us know you are not coming and a make up class will be provided to you.
  • PARENT-CHILD CLASSES
    • Class size has been temporarily reduced to 12 children. Reducing the number of kids in the gym allows for plenty of room for everyone to spread apart and have planet of room to move in accordance with social distancing.
    • In order to limit the number of individuals in an enclosed area, only ONE parent/caregiver may accompany children during Parent/Child classes. Other parents are welcome to watch the class from the outside windows.
    • We will ask you to demonstrate being a citizen kid, and be our Parent Partner from time to time when cleaning equipment your child may have used during class.
    • We will also limit the use of bells during our opening song and instead of teacher/child high-5’s we will ask for parents to give their own child a high-5!  We will also be UNABLE to give out stamps temporarily.

  • PRE-K AND GRADE SCHOOL CLASSES
    • Class size has been temporarily reduced to 10 children. Reducing the number of kids in the gym allows for plenty of room for everyone to spread apart and have planet of room to move in accordance with social distancing.
    • We will aid students in new transitions. Watching spots will be introduced in classes as we go from activity to activity.  Instead of trains, we'll find new creative ways to make it to the next watching spot. We will also set up stations for children to participate on equipment one at a time and switch when the instructor asks. This is considered more of a circuit training format instead of letting the students wander through the station.  We ask parents for your assistance in helping us set those expectations prior to their first time back in the gym.
    • Please wait for your instructor to call everyone into class and to direct you to the watching spots, spaced appropriately on the side of the red mat.
    • Note that ALL CLASSES WILL BE 50 MINUTES to ensure enhanced cleaning measures and to give proper dwell time to cleaners prior to the participation of the next class.

We have been very liberal on our MAKE UP POLICY and in order to ensure we are following guidelines we will only allow make ups in class if they are scheduled in advance.  You MUST also call if you will miss a class in order to receive a make up.

We are aware this is a long list, and we are here to assist you in implementing these changes. Please know that all of these measures, plus the ones we're adding among team members are to keep the fun alive at The Little Gym as we find our way back together again! We are greatly appreciative of you, your support, and your understanding and consideration of all. We love you and we know we wouldn't be here without you!

Please do be in touch with any additional questions you may have, and we'll look forward to a safe return to Serious Fun!

Happy Handstands!
