When most homeowners think of installing swimming pools, they jump to thoughts of summer days filled with fun. If you’re planning this type of project, however, you may need Bobcat work to prepare the site. A yard needs to be perfectly level to accommodate an aboveground or inground pool. Here are a few problems you avoid when you schedule this service.

Why You Shouldn't Skip Land Grading Before Pool Installation

1. Weakened Walls

If one end of the inground pool is higher than the other by a few inches, the weight of the water is distributed unevenly.

Even distribution prevents excessive pressure on some portions of the wall. Over time, this protects the feature from buckling, cracking, and collapse.

2. Uneven Water Levels

An area that’s evenly filled throughout ensures swimmers know what to expect in each part of the pool. In an inground model, children can remain in the sections designed to be shallower. In an aboveground variety, all parts are filled equally.

3. Damaged Liners

If the land underneath an aboveground pool isn’t completely flat, the liner could bunch up, causing wrinkles and folds.

Smooth pool floors are easier to clean, as no dirt and debris get lodged between folds. The risk of tears is also lower since toys can’t catch on wrinkles, helping prevent leaks.
