A professional commercial painting job provides many benefits, from enhancing curb appeal to inhibiting mold and mildew.  But to reap these benefits, you must prepare the property well before the first coat of paint is applied.

3 Steps to Prepare a Property for Commercial Painting

1. Perform Any Necessary Repairs

Even minor repairs can mar an otherwise perfect paint job.  When addressing an electrical or plumbing issue, for example, the contractor may need to cut through the wall to access the corresponding wiring or piping.  That’s why it’s wise to perform any essential repairs or upgrades before painting.

2. Accommodate the Painters

You can also streamline the project by moving furniture and equipment out of the way so the painters can get started as soon as they arrive.

3. Prepare the Surfaces

Remove all plaques, pictures, posters, and other hanging article pieces from the walls that will be painted.  If you notice any dust, dirt, or grime while doing so, clean the surfaces with soap and water.  This will ensure every coat of paint goes on smoothly and adheres directly to the wall, leaving you with a flawless finished product.
