RE: COVID-19 Update
Dear Valued Patient,
Both myself and dental staff, hope this letter, finds you and your loved ones in good health. I also hope that no one in your family has had to deal with the suffering that the recent COVID-19 virus infections have caused.
Due to the mandatory “shelter in place” from Governor DeWine, I’ve had to furlough all of my staff. We have opened the office with a skeleton crew, only to see emergencies, one day a week.
As of May 1st, we are now able to open our office for more routine care, including oral hygiene appointments. However, infection control has always been a top priority for our practice, and you may have both seen and smelled our disinfectants, during your visit to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe for you and our office staff. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies, so that we are up to date, and make sure that our infection control procedures are current.
You will see some changes in our office when it is time for your next appointment:
 You may be asked some pre appointment COVID-19 screening questions, via text, e-mail or phone call. Please be sure to answer these.
 You will be asked those same question when you are in our office, after your temperature is taken. Because symptoms of this virus can change in a very short time.
 If you have hand sanitizer please use it before you enter our office and wear a mask if you have one.
 If we have hand sanitizer we will make it available for your use. Please use before and after your visit.
 Please limit your visit with a minor, or adult requiring assistance to one person.
 We will no longer provide reading materials in our waiting room, these are difficult to sanitize, therefore bring your own media. We do have free WIFI available for your use.
 Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. You will have fewer options for follow up visits. Please accommodate and support us for your welfare
When you arrive at our office, please stay in your vehicle and phone us when you have arrived.
We will call you when your room has been sanitized and we are ready to seat you. There will probably
be some delays due to the extra demands of this Pandemic. Therefore please be patient.
Under current infection control guidelines no insurance company, has offered to reimburse
dental practices for the enormous increase of expenses that we will experience, in order to meet the
challenges that we all are experiencing. Therefore, and additional $5.00, a non-covered insurance
expense, will be added to each office visit, to cover the additional PPE’s needed for the COVID-19 virus
infection control.
Because, we are having difficulty obtaining, the N95 masks, hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, and
impervious coverings for all staff members, I’m not going to see routine hygiene patients, or minor
treatment needs until May 19th of this year. I’m being overly cautious for both, my patients, and my
staff. However, we will continue to be open one or two days a week for lost fillings, sensitive teeth, sore
jaws, painful emergencies, or pressing treatment needs. We have enough PPE gear for the dental team,
to see patients for the treatment that they feel is necessary, before reopening.
Beginning May19th we should be able to see our normal complement of 70-90 patients per
week.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions that you may have
about these steps and precautions we are taking to keep you and every patient safe in our practice.
Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming
you back, along with your neighbors and friends.
Sincerely,
Bob, Linda, Eleni, Sharon, Megan, Rebecca, Amy and Angie
