When you have a well on your property, you may need to keep a close eye on the volume of water you’re able to access. When you turn on the tap and you need to be worried about how long you can let it run, it can be a significant inconvenience. Luckily hydrofracking is a technique that can boost the amount of water in your well. Here’s a guide to everything you need to know about this innovative process.

How Does Hydrofracking Work?

Hydrofracking is a way to increase water yield in a well by flushing out the  holes in the bedrock. For that reason, only wells that source their water through ground fissures are appropriate for this method. For this procedure, technicians use heavy-duty equipment to pump water at a high PSI into the fissures to flush them and give the water more space to enter.

hydrofrackingTechnicians will first measure the well casing and then set inflatable rubber "packers" at least 50 feet below the bottom of the casing. Then, they'll pump water at a PSI of up to 3000 psi and 200 gym, flushing out the veins. Once the procedure is complete, they'll remove the packer and then the well pump can be reinstalled. It's entirely normal for the well water to be cloudy or dirty for the next couple of days. The well will need to be run from a hose off the well tank until the water is clean enough to be turned on into the house.

What Should You Know About the Pre-Process?

First, you should choose a well specialist that has the most experience, and the owner of Henderson Well and Pump has been doing the Hydro Frack process for over 30 years. Nobody else in the area has been doing it longer.

Before your well can be Hydro Fracked, you will need to be sure it meets the requirements of being at least 150 feet away from the nearest well and deep enough to set the packer 50 feet below the bottom of the casing. The well must also be accessible with a large truck. Once those conditions are verified, the process can be scheduled.
