Driving under the influence is illegal, and it hinders your ability to drive no matter your skill level. Drowsiness is also a common cause of accidents, and motorcyclists like to ride for long hours. Make sure you’ve had plenty of sleep before beginning your trip, and take a break every 75-125 miles.

Assume everyone can see you.

Motorcycles are smaller than cars, and almost 2/3rds of motorcycle accidents are caused by a driver violating a motorcycle’s right of way. Drive with your headlights on during the night and always utilize your turn signals. Stay out of blind spots and keep an eye on vehicles that are making turns.
