While you’re likely excited to see old friends and peers at your class reunion, it may have been a while since you last spoke. If you want to help everyone feel comfortable and revive the bonds you shared, here are some fun icebreakers to lighten the mood.

4 Ways to Encourage Fun & Socialization at Your Class Reunion

1. Use Games

Starting the event with a game will help everyone loosen up and laugh together. When guests walk into the class reunion party, tape a piece of paper with the name of a famous person onto their back without letting them see it. Have them ask the other guests yes or no questions about the person until they can guess the name.

2. Encourage Team Activities

Or consider dividing the tables into teams for a Jeopardy!-style game with questions centered on the school, the venue for the class reunion, or any important events from your year of graduation.

3. Bring Up the Past

Get copies of the class yearbook photos or pictures of memorable events that happened when you were in school together. Post them around the venue or as a slideshow on a projector along with questions about who is in the pictures or what guests remember best about the events depicted. This should spark plenty of conversation and reminiscing.

4. Share Information

It will likely be easier for people to open up about their lives if it’s done in an entertaining way. One idea is to set a bowl of M&Ms, Skittles, or another type of candy in the middle of each table, direct the guests to take as many as they’d like without eating them, and provide one fact about themselves for each piece of candy they took.

Guests can also tell two truths and one lie about themselves, then have their tablemates guess which is the lie.
