The ACT test-makers announced that they plan to go ahead with summer testing as scheduled with some additional options.

ACT Inc. states that they “will offer a flexible schedule for summer 2020 test dates and test-at-home options for fall/winter 2020.”

For the June and July national test dates, ACT will follow safety guidelines from the CDC and work with testing sites individually to determine if the exams can be held on site.

In the event that the tests cannot be offered on the national test dates of June 13 and July 18, ACT will notify affected students in advance.

The make-up test date for June 13 will be June 20 and the make-up test date for July 18 will be July 25. Students will have the option to change their test date from June to July with no charge.

The fall test dates of September 12, October 24, and December 12 will take place as scheduled, but the ACT will offer a remote proctoring option for an additional ACT test date in fall or early winter where students can take the test at home.

More details will be available in due course from ACT.

Parents and students may be aware that back in October 2019, ACT announced that students would be able to take sections of the ACT individually starting in September 2020 and that individual section scores would automatically be superscored to create a student’s composite score.

From this recent announcement, ACT has affirmed that these changes are still in effect:

“ACT’s new remote proctoring option coming in the late fall/early winter builds upon the extensive research and development work that underpins the new online ACT test option, section retesting and superscoring enhancements that will be available at national test centers starting in September 2020.”

This ACT announcement is an additional update in a series of updates from the The College Board and ACT, Inc.
