The College Board recently announced that the June SAT would be removed from the testing calendar in light of COVID-19 concerns.

In a statement on their website, The College Board said: “To keep students safe, and in alignment with public health guidance and school closures across 192 countries, we will not be able to administer the SAT or SAT Subject Tests on June 6, 2020.”

With the June SAT test date now removed, the College Board has cancelled three test dates in total thus far for this year: March 14, May 2, and June 6.

Here’s a summary of the announcement.

  • There will be a new September 2020 test date which will be announced soon. Students will have an SAT test option every month from August to December.

  • In May, students can register for any future exam date with priority given to those who registered for the June test and the Class of 2021 who have not yet taken an official SAT.

  • The College Board is working with testing sites to increase capacity to meet the influx of demand from the now-cancelled March, May, and June tests.

In the unlikely event that testing cannot resume in August, The College Board is also working on a potential at-home version of the SAT.
