During the Coronavirus pandemic that is forcing everyone to learn new ways to do their normal activities, you might not think that dance lessons would be possible. However, around the world, dedicated dance teachers are finding ways to help their students keep up their skills and maintain fitness, while keeping their lives as normal as possible.

When classes resumed after Spring Break, The St. Laurent School of Dance began offering regular classes in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, acro, street jazz and singing using the Zoom meeting platform. With this app, the teachers are able to provide instruction, demonstration and individual feedback to all students from age 3 to high school. Students wear their regular dance uniform for classes that follow the standard curriculum. Parents help the younger students set up a suitable space at home, get them connected and make sure there are no distractions.

Students of all ages are loving the social aspects of being able to interact with their teachers and see each other on screen. Everyone will be overjoyed to get back to their old routines when it’s safe to come together again. Until then, it’s wonderful to be able to use technology to dance together – while safely apart.

If you're looking for a dance studio for your child, choose The St. Laurent School of Dance in Honolulu, HI.
