Do:

Bring Support Pillows

Without support or cushioning, you might lean your head against the tray table or window while sleeping. This will put pressure and stress on your muscles and ligaments. Prevent pain and stiffness by bringing travel-sized memory foam pillows to support your neck and back. 

Watch Your Posture

Adjust your posture on long flights by placing a pillow made from foam or small beads between your lower back and the seat. Doing so will correct the position of your spine’s lumbar, preventing slouching and back spasms.

Stay Stationary 

Once the pilot turns off the seatbelt light, get up and move around as much as possible. As you walk to and from the restroom, stretch your arms overhead and do neck rolls to loosen your muscles and prevent cramping. While you’re seated, point and flex your toes to stretch your calves, and pull your knees toward your body to stretch your buttocks. 

Forget to Pack Medication 

If you have a chronic pain condition or are susceptible to neck and back pain, don’t forget to pack ibuprofen, naproxen, or acetaminophen in your carry-on bag or personal item. Prevent discomfort by taking a dose at the beginning of the flight and again about halfway through it. These medications will mitigate any neck or back pain.
