Everyday we strive to do better and achieve better results. We do this as we live with a sense of intention in all areas of our lives. Sometimes it is more difficult. the Bible reminds us in Proverbs 14:29 Those who control their anger have great understanding; those with a hasty temper will make mistakes.

That reminds me of a story about a poor fellow whose car stalled in heavy traffic, just was the light turned green. Trying as he was to start that engine, well all his efforts failed and to make matters worse the driver of the car behind him began to honk the horn. Quickly a chorus of honking from what seemed like every direction further hindered his resolve. So, the elderly man got out of his car and walked back to the car behind him and said, “I am completely unable to start the engine of my car. If you could please go and try, I will be happy to stay here and blow your car’s horn for you!”

Doing what we do can be with better outcomes! That’s true in what we do for our teeth. Optimal dental care requires daily brushing and flossing. Often Dr Teresa Wade describes the benefits offered by using an electronic toothbrush, as those products do enhance our home dental care.

Prevent Damage to the Tooth’s Enamel and CementumWhile your tooth enamel is the hardest substance in the human body, brushing too hard can still wear away at it—especially if you brush with too much pressure, along horizontal rather than vertical brushing strokes, and continue to load your toothpaste (which carries abrasives) to the same area each time you brush.

Once the enamel is abraded away, the much more sensitive dentin (the underlying layer of the tooth) and root cementum become exposed over time.

There are many simple dental remedies such as: varying the area you place your toothbrush as you begin to brush, grasp the toothbrush by holding your fourth pinky finger up (as if you were sipping tea) instead of using a power-grasp, pay attention to use the Bass Technique of brushing (vertical and circular, rather than horizontal scrub), or use an electric toothbrush

Electronic Brushes and Timers

Dental care professionals recommend brushing twice a day for at least two minutes. However, it can be difficult to keep track of time precisely, resulting in some people under-brushing. Many electronic brushes come with in-built timers, which ensures you’re brushing for the recommended amount of time to reap the maximum benefits.

Easier to Use

Some people, such as those with severe arthritis, carpal tunnel, or other medical conditions find traditional toothbrushes become more challenging. This enjoyable habit can be fostered by the use of an electric toothbrush.

Electronic toothbrush’s rotating movement helps you focus on one area of the teeth and minimize the tendency to brush in the harmful side to side horizontal pattern. The small head is also adept at cleaning along the gum line and in general provide a deep cleaning.

There is even a new line of electronic brushes which do both waterpik the teeth and brush at the same time and everyone is loving those products.
