What is Soffit?

Soffit is the exposed siding underneath your roof’s overhang because soffit is located on the underside of your roof; it is not noticeable in terms of curb appeal.

What is Fascia?

Fascia and soffit go hand in hand together for your home. Fascia is the area of siding directly above the soffit. It’s exposed board you see on the front of your roof’s overhang.

Why are these important and what does it mean to me?

The fact is, it’s very important to stay up-to-date on your soffit and fascia if you want to keep a good looking and energy efficient home.

Soffit and Fascia are your home’s air flow enablers and attic protectors. They work in conjunction.

-It protects your home from unknown invaders.

-Without proper home airflow your attic will collect mildew and mold. This will rot you home from the INSIDE OUT! YUCK!

Couple tips for you:

  • Make sure you check for defects or holes
  • Keep them clean
  • Make sure attic insulation isn’t blocking the vented soffit
  • If soffit is NOT vented, call a professional
  • Delete gable vents and add ridge vent
