To our loyal family of patients,

Dentistry For Kids recognizes the unprecedented circumstances and the growing concern about COVID-19. We are deeply concerned for the health and well-being of our dental family of patients and our dental team. We want to do our part to balance mitigating the spread of COVID-19 with taking care your dental needs. We are following recommendations by the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Association of Pediatric Dentist (AAPD), and the Hawaii State Department of Health.

Our priority during this time will be to take care of scheduled appointments and conditions that can potentially place burdens on hospital emergency departments if they are not taken care of. We recommend patients with these conditions to take care of them as soon as possible. We can not assure treatment should it become required that our office close down during these unprecedented times. 

We have always spaced out patient appointments to utilize everyone’s time efficiently. For the time being, we have decided to space appointments even more to limit overlap of different families in our office. This will allow for “social distancing” and allow us to prepare the public reception area with the same level of sanitation as our treatment areas. Please be understanding if we need to adjust your appointment times for this reason. We have appreciated your timeliness in the past and we encourage you continue this practice for the benefit of the family with appointments before and/or after yours.

For the majority of our other patients whom have generally been in excellent dental health over time, we have temporarily suspended notifying you of due dates for recare appointments. However, we will continuously monitor the latest information and will be contacting you at the appropriate time. In the meantime, we hope you continue your oral hygiene regimen and good eating habits to maintain your dental health.
