COVID-19: How Nutmeg Spay/Neuter Clinic is protecting you and your pets during this difficult time

To our clients and supporters,

We want to reassure you that we are closely monitoring the most up-to-date COVID-19 information and preparing for any potential impacts on our community.  The safety of our clients, patients and staff are always our top priority, and our goal is to stay well-informed and update protocols according to the most current recommendations.

At this time our clinic remains open.  We have already instituted preventative safety precautions to ensure the well-being of our clients and staff in order to continue to serve our community.  Our primary goal is to reduce the risk of exposure and transmission of the COVID-19 virus while still providing the highest level of care for our patients.

Our safety measures include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring the most current information for the Center of Disease Control and Prevention and The American Veterinary Medical Association and local government regarding the spread of COVID19.
  • We are no longer taking walk-in requests for an appointment, we ask that you request an appointment online by:
  • We have suspended any volunteers until further notice
  • We will be admitting and discharging clients and patients that have scheduled appointments outside the clinic entrance until further notice, only staff is allowed inside the building at this time.
  • We’re kindly asking our clients to please notify us in advance if they feel they are at risk for COVID19 OR postpone their pet’s appointment (without penalty) if they have flu or cold-like symptoms, such as cough, fever, shortness of breath, or have been in contact with someone who has contracted the virus.
    • As a safety measure, we are unable to see clients who present with any of these symptoms.  We require a two-week waiting period for an appointment for those who are ill or have had contact with an individual who is ill.
  • We are committed to keeping our clinic as clean and sanitary as possible.  We have significantly increased the frequency of general cleaning, with particular attention to public areas like reception, counter tops, bathrooms, door handles, etc.
  • In addition, we are asking our staff to please stay home should they exhibit any flu or coldlike symptoms or have been exposed to COVID-19

We appreciate your patience, support and understanding during this difficult time.  Thank you for helping us keep our staff, clients and patients safe.

Warmly,

The Staff of Nutmeg Spay/Neuter Clinic
