Your wedding is one of the most memorable days of your life. It’s so important, in fact, that you may wish to preserve your wedding flowers in honor of the occasion. While this may seem like a tricky task, it’s actually not impossible. Here are three suggestions to keep in mind.

How to Preserve Your Wedding Bouquet

1. Let Them Air Dry

An air-dried bouquet allows you to preserve the beauty of your bouquet for posterity. Simply tie them together at the stems, then hang the bouquet upside down in a dry space with a moderate temperature. Leave them to dry for at least two weeks. Once they’re fully dry, place them in a flower preservation box.

2. Press It Yourself

Columbia Falls, MT wedding flowersIf you have a bit of a DIY streak, you might consider pressing the flowers onto parchment paper. After you’ve placed the flowers down, put the paper inside a large book, such as an old textbook or a heavy dictionary or phone book.

Place an extra piece of parchment on top of the flowers to prevent ink transfer, then close the book and put an additional heavy object on top of the book for added weight. Allow about 10 days for the flowers to flatten and dry thoroughly, then frame the parchment.

3. Try Epoxy Resin

You can decorate your home with your wedding flowers, too! To accomplish this do-it-yourself project, you’ll need a mold of some sort to create a paperweight. Feel free to gather a few if you want to keep several pieces from the floral arrangement.

Fill the mold with epoxy resin, then place the flower of your choice inside and arrange it in the position that you wish for it to remain. Continue filling with the resin, then allow it to dry before you remove the mold. You’ll have a stunning treasure that adds beauty to your home.
