1. Talk to Your Instructors

Even after you get your degree, your cosmetology school instructors can be valuable contacts and resources. Ask them what you need to do to get your license. They can answer simple questions like how much the exams cost and what supplies you’ll need in your kit, as well as give you personalized feedback about how you should be preparing for the test. 

2. Take Your State Board Exams
