Replacing a countertop can completely transform the look of your kitchen and boost your property value. Before you bring in a contractor to pull out the existing material, you’ll want to prepare for the project, so they can get their work done more quickly.

3 Tips to Get Ready for a Countertop Replacement Project

1. Clear the Workspace

Remove everything from your countertops before the contractors arrive. Tuck away all appliances, such as your coffee maker, toaster, cooking utensils, and decorations, into cabinets. Remove anything else in the room that you don’t want to risk getting damaged or dirty.

2. Provide Access

Plan for where they will park as well; save space for them close to the entry you want them to use. Clear the path to the kitchen, so they can move about freely.

3. Find an Alternative Cook Space

Plan on not being able to use your kitchen throughout the project. If possible, use a miniature fridge, so you don’t need to enter the workspace. You can use a cooking stove or outdoor grill to cook, prepare frozen food in the microwave, or treat the family to takeout or at restaurants.
