Yachts are becoming popular destinations for outdoor weddings. They not only provide breathtaking views but also create an intimate setting for memorable moments. However, providing for everyone’s comfort throughout the trip requires some planning. Consider the following do’s and don’ts to ensure hosting success.

Do:

Supply seasickness solutions.

Even if the forecast predicts calm waters, it’s best to prepare. Have a table set up with several seasickness treatment options, such as motion sickness bracelets, medicine, patches, ginger tea, and crackers. Inform your guests of the table’s availability when they come aboard.

Set up a covering.

yachtStanding out in the sun not only increases the potential for a burn but also fatigue. Provide additional shelter outside of the cabin so guests can mingle without constant exposure. This precaution will also save the day in the event of rain.

Don’t:

Use too many decorations.

Yachts have a limited amount of space, so maximize it with smaller decor pieces. Do away with display tables and hanging furnishings. Set up a simple backdrop instead of a full photo booth.

Stay out too late.

Being out on the water makes it impossible for guests to leave at their leisure. Remain considerate of their time by planning to dock at a reasonable hour. You can even start the celebration earlier in the day to ensure there’s plenty of time for both the ceremony and reception.
