RV camping is an ideal way to spend time with friends and family. You want your trip to go off without a hitch, so you’ll need to ensure you have a reliable insurance policy in place and that your vehicle is ready to hit the road. Here are some other tips to make your next RV camping excursion as enjoyable as possible.

Do:

Bring a pop-up shelter.

Just because you have a cozy RV doesn’t mean you should spend all of your time inside it. A pop-up shelter can be placed over fold-out chairs and tables to provide a bit of a respite from the sun. It will also protect you from any rain that would dampen your vacation.

Ask about arrival times.

When reserving your spot at a campground, be sure to ask about expected arrival times. If you show up at the campground outside of this window, you may not be able to enter until the next day, or you may have to set up in the dark.

Don’t:

Litter.

Bring plenty of trash bags so you can properly dispose of items, and make sure you’re discarding all waste in the proper area of the campground. If you’re not sure where that is, ask another camper or someone at the main office.

Leave home without some entertainment.

This is especially important if you’re traveling with small children. Books, board games, puzzles, and other forms of entertainment are essential when RV camping. If the weather is not what you expected and you must stay inside your RV for most of the trip, these items will give you and your family a fun activity while you wait for the storm to pass.
