After a long road trip, your RV windows may be caked with dirt, hard water deposits, and a few bugs. This debris can be difficult to remove, leaving you with a cloudy windshield and making your beloved RV seem run-down and dirty. Fortunately, you can keep your RV glass by following a few simple tips.

How to Clean Your RV Glass

1. Use Ultra-Fine Steel Wool on the Windshield

windshieldScrubbing your windshield with steel wool might seem like a recipe for disaster, but it’s an excellent way to easily remove insects and stubborn water stains. Tempered glass is much harder than super-fine steel wool, so you don’t have to worry about scratching the windshield.

2. Use a High-Quality Glass Cleaner

Some glass cleaning products leave streaks and residue that can be just as harmful as road dust and grime. Use a high-quality product guaranteed not to leave streaks, or a 50/50 mixture of water and vinegar. After washing, thoroughly dry each window with a microfiber cloth to eliminate streaks and spots.

3. Use a Long-Handled Cleaner on Hard-to-Reach Areas

The height of an RV can make it difficult to clean the tops of the windows, even with a stepladder. A long-handled cleaner can help you safely clean those tough-to-reach areas and get dirt out of the corners.

4. Don’t Forget the Interiors

The most visible dirt might be on the outside, but the interior also catches dust, pollen, and pet hair. Fortunately, cleaning the interior of your RV glass is just like doing your windows at home. Just take down the window treatments, spray with your favorite glass cleaner, and thoroughly dry each surface with a soft, lint-free cloth.
