I'm not Tim Allen and as a result I don't have any witty stories to tell you about the pawn business.  However, I am asked all the time if things are the same here as the are on "Pawn Stars"?  The truth is that we are similar just not as history slanted.  

We get a lot of weird and strange things in the store that you don't see every day.  One time I had a guy come into the store with a device that looked just like the backpack ghost vacuum that they used on the movie "Ghost Busters".  It turns out it was an industrial fogging machine used for large warehouse fumigation. 

Another time we had a lady come in and ask for a loan on her false teeth.  Since they were gold she got the loan and yes, she came back for them a week later. 

When I think of these stories I like to remind myself of the person behind the story.  How is it that they would come into my store looking for help with these types of things as collateral.  I know that often the pawn industry gets a bad reputation because of the way some are treated.  As for me and my shop, we are here to help people take care of their problems with out creating additional issues.  If that means a pawn loan, payday advance, or just buying used furniture or other items at a fair price that is what we will do.
