Recently we were speaking to a new business owner who had just opened a sports bar. He thought he was going to open 5 months ago October. In June he needed to get his phone number so that he could start working on his website and social media and he did not want to list his cell phone number.

 

New Client opened a business and dealt directly with a huge communications company. As you can see from the case study below hings did not go well until he contacted us @ South Florida VoIP

 

He called AT&T and Comcast both companies told him he needed to order all of his services, Phone, Internet and TV, at once. Since he wanted Comcast TV he went ahead and placed an order for 3 phone lines, super fast internet and 5 public view TV.  He  had to wait 2 weeks for everything to install before he could get his new phone number. His total monthly bill was $490.00 plus $150.00 in installation charges just to get a single phone number.

 

He had been paying for all of these services since June 15, 2019. $490.00  times 6 months is over $2500.00 for a single phone number that had voice mail and forwarded to his cell phone. A week before he finally opened he tried to get the internet and TV working and had to have Comcast come out again because the services he had been paying $450.00 a month for were not working. Comcast charged him $99.00 to come out and fix the services that had not worked and insisted he need to get a new phone numbers as they had given the ones they were charging him for to someone else because he had disconnected Comcast telephone box, internet box and TV boxes.

He told me he wasted over $2500.00 paying them and now had to change his website to reflect his new number as well as replace $5000.00 worth of printing. he asked if we could help him recover some of his money. So he was out over $7500.00 dollars and had to change everything.

He had called Comcast to complain and ask for a refund however they told him that they had repeatedly sent him notices to the e-mail address they assigned him when he opened his account. they did not care that he was never given the e-mail address or password so that he could access the e-mail address they assigned him. The Comcast rep acted dumb when he asked why they did not send these e-mails to the e-mail address he gave him when he opened the account and that his was out of luck.

 

We were able to get Comcast to refund him everything he spent plus get them to give him 1 free month of service for there reps misinforming him.

 

He then asked us what i he should have done to prevent this from happening. We told him we could have gotten him a phone number with an Auto attendant that would have allowed him to have his phone number and an Auto attendant to route calls to either his cell phone or a voice mail box depending on the time of day people were calling his soon to open business. The monthly cost for this would have been under $30.00 a month instead of the $490.00 a month.
