Installing glass shower doors is the perfect alternative to the traditional curtain because they’re fashionable and add more light to the bathroom. Caring for glass comes with its challenges, but if you follow these tips, it will look shiny and new.

How to Care for Glass Shower Doors

1. Spray Vinegar & Water

Mix one part white vinegar with three parts water in a spray bottle and apply it liberally over the glass. If you have hard water and notice soap scum caked on the glass, let the mixture sit for five minutes before rinsing it with water. For a clean shine, use either a rag, lint-free towel, or paper towel to wipe it down. Newspaper also works well in a pinch.

2. Keep the Door Open

Ventilation is essential for drying anything in your bathroom. Since many of these rooms don’t have a window or a fan to disperse humidity, this can be difficult. Crack the shower doors and keep the bathroom door open after a shower to release some of the heat and water in the room. This also leaves less potential for mold to grow.

3. Use a Squeegee

4. Scrub With a Toothbrush

The tracks of your shower door attract dirt and grime, and they’re difficult to clean thoroughly with a traditional sponge. Use an old toothbrush to scrub them after you’ve soaked the tracks with soap and water. Run the toothbrush under a pressurized stream of water between scrubs to remove debris.
