(Lincoln, NE) – Stephens & Smith Construction Company presented and demonstrated “Placing & Finishing Exterior Concrete” during the Nebraska Concrete & Aggregates Association’s 61^st Annual Quality Concrete Conference.  Held at the Lancaster Event Center, this event is geared towards promoting and educating contractors, producers, and the design community on various topics within the ready mixed concrete industry.  This year, Stephens & Smith was asked to assist in promoting quality practices regarding placing and finishing exterior concrete.

Jereme Montgomery (Stephens & Smith) presented a formal powerpoint on placing and finishing that encompassed industry standards and guidelines. David Thibault (Stephens & Smith) coordinated a live demo that showed proper placing and finishing procedures with a performance mix from Ready Mixed Concrete – Lincoln.  The program also highlighted speakers such as Dr. Peter Taylor (National Concrete Pavement Technology Center) who spoke on “Concrete Mix Design” and Jon Connealy (Logan Contractor Supply) who spoke on “Curing and Sealing Concrete”.
