When children enter the foster care system, they’re often split up from any existing brothers and sisters and they might not feel close to the other children in their house. Once they finally start to feel like siblings, they might be moved to different homes. Grins Restaurant understands this hardship, which is why they’re supporting Family 4 Life through a fundraiser this February. To learn more about this organization and how you can get involved at your local restaurant, take a look at the information below.

What Is Family 4 Life?

Established in 2002, this non-profit strives to bring separated foster and adoptive siblings back together each year at a celebratory summer camp. Founder Rob R. Rodriguez set up the camp in San Marcos, TX, but it reunites children from throughout the state.

While supervised by professionals and volunteers alike, the siblings enjoy two days of reconnection while engaging in fun activities—from art to archery.

How Is Grins Helping?

local restaurantGrins Restaurant has been participating in the Family 4 Life fundraiser for 11 years and they’re proud to help Mr. Rodriguez continue his mission. Throughout the month of February, they’re inviting diners to donate to the non-profit and help fund the summer camp.

When you give, the restaurant staff will write your name on a Texas State University Bobcat paw and hang it on the wall. In addition to Grins, local restaurants Fuegos and Wimberly Cafe are also pitching in.

To participate in this honorable cause, head to Grins Restaurant on February 1st for the fundraiser kick-off. They’ve been serving San Marcos, TX, diners for over 40 years, and they’re happy to remain locally owned and operated.
