Investing in bathroom remodeling will make your business more comfortable for employees and visitors. Updating hardware is a simple way to make a dated space appear more contemporary. If you want to incorporate the trend of mixing metals, below are a few tips to do it correctly.

3 Pointers to Mix Different Metals in Bathrooms

1. Pick a Dominant Metal & Two Accents

When bathroom remodeling, choose one metal to feature in the most dominant hardware in the room. This could include the frame for a large vanity or standalone mirror or a hanging chandelier. If the room has a warm color palette, consider metals with golden tones.

For example, an eye-catching brass overhead light fixture will pop against bronze door handles on toilet stalls and satiny gold wall sconces. Chrome and silver complement cool color palettes, while warm and cool metals combined add depth to a neutral color scheme.

2. Place Metal in Pairs

For example, if there is one drawer pull, use the same metal for the faucet. If there’s a single toilet stall, use the same handle material for the main bathroom door, toilet paper holder, or paper towel dispenser.

3. Combine Finishes

The light reflecting off polished surfaces can produce a harsh glare, so use various finishes for the hardware. As shiny objects are more noticeable, feature a polished finish in draw pulls and other smaller accents. Matte and hammered finishes on large pieces will add texture and depth to the space.
