Every year, Pantone® releases its color of the year, which reflects the latest interior design trends. 2020’s color is PANTONE 19-4052, commonly called Classic Blue. This bold and dark hue is, according to the company, “suggestive of the sky at dusk.” Using it in your home is a fantastic way to keep your space current, so have your painter apply it with any of the techniques below.

How to Incorporate Classic Blue Into Your Home

1. Create an Accent Wall

The deep blue makes for a stunning accent wall. Its versatility means that it can fit into any space, from a bedroom to a living room. Blue is a calming color, so it will bring a relaxing energy to your space. Repeat the color throughout the area with a matching rug, artwork, or vases on shelves.

2. Cover the Wallswentzville painter

This dusky hue makes a bold statement in rooms like an office or a powder room. Because it is a darker color, use this strategy only in a room that gets a lot of light; this will also bring out the depth of the blue. You can also keep it from overwhelming the room by having your painter coat only a portion of the walls, such as the wainscoting.

3. Paint the Cabinetry

Neutral kitchens and bathrooms have been trending for a while; however, a new trend designers are seeing this year is to add a pop of color. Painted cabinetry is the perfect way to add some interest to your neutral palette without overwhelming it. The darker hue will also naturally hide dirt, helping to make these often-touched areas look clean. Paint the vanity in your bathroom or the cabinets of your kitchen island to match.
