Water wells are incredibly useful but are often lacking in style. Water well pipes can be a nuisance for homeowners who are creating a beautiful garden on their property. Well pipes protrude a foot off the ground, and that could be an eyesore and take away from the aesthetic and value of a backyard. So why not get rid of the well pipe protrusion? The problem is that protrusion protects your groundwater from contamination. A stronger and more creative option is to disguise the water well pipe in the following ways.

How to Disguise Water Wells

1. Place Garden Decorations Around Wells

Garden decorations make great disguises because you can use them to block the water well pipe. You can fit a tall garden structure, like an obelisk, around the pipe. Better yet, vines can grow on obelisks to further disguise the water well pipe. However, check with a professional to make sure the vine roots won’t interfere with the pipes. Add yard art or fake boulders around the pipe to make your garden feel more natural.

2. Hide Wells in the Plants

Be sure to give at least one foot of room for the well pipe to decrease the risk of root interference and contamination. If you’re worried that the pipe will be exposed in winter, install raised flower beds instead. That way, the pipe will be well hidden and add flair to your garden.

3. Reposition Your Current Garden

If you don’t want to buy anything new for your garden, try rearranging your furniture and yard items to take focus away from the pipe. Move your garden structures on the other side of the garden so no one will look over in the direction of the well pipe. You can also set up your seating arrangements and tables with your back to the pipe so you won’t see it when relaxing in your backyard.
