Eating pizza certainly doesn’t need to come with a manual. After all, each slice is designed with convenience in mind, with the crust acting as a perfect handle for grasping. Yet, even though you’ve probably been eating this iconic food for years, you may not be familiar with the different styles for consuming it. Next time you’re in the mood for a slice, break out of your ordinary routine by trying one of these methods.

3 Pizza Eating Options to Try

1. The Fold

Slices with a softer crust tend to fare well with the fold. In this method, you pinch the crust and fold the entire triangle so that the cheese faces in towards itself. The result is a narrower triangle which makes for convenient consumption, especially if you’re on the go. Not ready to commit to a full fold? Try the crimp instead, in which you pinch just the crust for a sturdier grip, but leave the rest of the slice unfolded.

2. The Wallet

pizzaIf you’re a regular folder and want to take your pizza eating experience up a notch, consider the wallet. Instead of forming a triangle, this style, as its name suggests, creates a wallet-like shape for an even quicker eating experience. To try it, start as you would with the regular fold, by pinching the crust at the middle. Before you fold the entire slice inwards, however, first fold the very end of the slice back in on itself. Then proceed with the rest of the fold for a rectangular, pouch-like slice.

3. The Roll

The roll is for anyone willing to truly break tradition and go for something unique. Starting at the crust, roll the slice downwards to form a taquito-like rollup. While it may not be the way that pizza was originally intended to be eaten, anything that puts a new spin on this beloved food is worth trying at least once.
